The bomb is manufactured by the Russian company BAZALT. In addition to the term thermobaric air bomb, it is also possible to encounter the names vacuum bomb, fuel bomb, aerosol bomb, volume detonating bomb or high-explosive bomb.
The bomb is intended for the destruction of industrial zones, unprotected or protected manpower (eg in shelters, tunnels, caves), unarmoured equipment and military material. The bomb is planned for military (front) aircraft and helicopters. It can be used to destroy anti-personnel and anti-tank mines. Aircraft can drop the bomb from a height of 200 - 12000 m at speeds of 500 - 1500 km/h. Helicopters can drop a bomb from a height of 1100 - 4000 m at speeds of 50 - 300 km/h. The bomb has a built-in lighter.
