The bomb is manufactured by the Russian company BAZALT. It is designed to destroy industrial zones, fortified objects, railway junctions, unprotected live forces, unarmored or lightly armored equipment and military material. The bomb provides three activation options: before impact, on contact with the surface, and after breaching fortifications. The maximum lethal effect on unprotected live forces has a radius of 150-215 metres. The destructive effect on lightly armoured fighting vehicles has a radius of 29-75 metres. The bomb is capable of penetrating 200 mm of reinforced concrete. The bomb can be dropped from a height of 50 - 8000 m at speeds of 500 - 1350 km/h. The bomb has a built-in igniter.
