Flakpanzer I

According to the order of 27 March 1941, the ammunition supply unit Mun.Trsp.Abt.610 was converted into an anti-aircraft unit Fla.Btl.614, whose armament was to be towed by 2 cm Flak 38. The original ammunition supply unit had ammunition tanks in the state - the Panzerkampfwagen (A) Munitions-Schlepper conversions. These tanks were supposed to haul anti-aircraft guns, but some, perhaps all, of the available machines were converted to self-propelled anti-aircraft tanks. The 614th Flakpanzer-Battalion(mot.) consisted of three batteries of 8 machines each. This simple emergency conversion served on the eastern front. The last machines perhaps until the end of 1942 (it is reported that the last machine was destroyed in the winter of 1942 during the Battle of Stalingrad in the Kalach district).
In all, 24 vehicles were converted.
