VDK-62, VDK-62a are instruments for evaluation of diagnostic dosimeters DK-62. The set enables recording and measurement of exposure to ionizing gamma radiation in the range of 20 to 1600 R. It works on the principle of changing the optical properties of the potassium chloride crystal after irradiation. It is evaluated on the principle of a comparative colorimeter. After exposure of the crystal to radioactivity, the colour of the crystal changes from clear to violet. Dosimeters can be regenerated after use with daylight or artificial white light.
