South African Reconnaissance Car Mark IV


Short history:
During World War II, the armed forces of the British Commonwealth lacked enough armored vehicles. That is why the individual Commonwealth countries helped each other on their own. One of the resulting armored vehicles was a South African modification of the chassis of Marmon-Herrington trucks imported from the United States. The development of the vehicle was started in 1941 and the actual production started in August 1942. Two variants of armored cars are known: Mark IV and Mark IV F.
