470 Nitro Express

English hunting cartridge introduced in 1907. It was quite popular among hunters in Africa for hunting heavy game. When Kynoch ceased production in the early 1960s, it was produced by some smaller manufacturers and, from 1989, by Federal. The charge in the picture is still from Kynoch & amp; Company, Birmingham, England. The 32.4 g projectile has a muzzle velocity of 655 m/sec. The charge on the right is 7.92x57.
