Panzerbefehlswagen VI (P)
In 10/1942 the last prototype was completed VK 45.01 (P) (Fgst .Nr.250013). He carried the Turm Nr.14 tower, which was modified into a commanding form. The prototype underwent tests in 11/1942 on the polygon in Berka, then was sent for further testing to Kummersdorf. In Kummersdorf, the prototype was modified for towing tested tank destroyers Panzerjäger Tiger P (Ferdinand). For this reason, he had a towing device (later modified) mounted on the rear body armor. In 9/1943, according to a report by , MAN took part in comparative tests with two Tigrams of Henschel . After returning to the Nibelungenwerk factory, it was modified in early 1944 (replacement of Maybach engines, installation of additional armor, application of zimmerite). In this form, the command machine was from 4/1944 included in the staff schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653 armed with tank destroyers Elephant. It was Major Gillenberger's command machine . The last combat action of this machine was documented in 7/1944.
