6mm PPC - USA
This 1974 cartridge was developed specifically for bench rest shooting. There are a group of ballistically and dimensionally similar bullets (5.6 PPC, 6mm BR Remington, 6mm Norma Br, 6mm PPC) and there was even a small war between Remington and Norma over the authorship of the bullets they developed. The cartridge pictured was manufactured by Norma Projektilfabrik Amotfors, Sweden. The 4.9 g projectile has a muzzle velocity of 930 m/sec. On the right is the 7.62x39 cartridge. Photo by.
