6 x 70 R

6 x 70 Krieghoff

The cartridge first appeared at the IWA in 2000. The cartridge was created by stripping the neck of an old 6.5 x 70 R Sauer & Sohn cartridge (see below) and is designed to shoot deer from a shotgun with an insert barrel. The 5,8 g bullet has a muzzle velocity of 750 m/sec. The pictured cartridge was manufactured by Norma Projektilfabrik, Amotfors, Sweden. On the right is the 7,92x57 cartridge. Photo by.
