Between 18.-20.11.1948 was held 5.A meeting of representatives of MNO and representatives of the company Skoda in Plzen (DKS - dělostřelecká komise studijní), at which the decision was made to develop a light platform for eventual light self-propelled guns. Even before the meeting, the Skoda company itself came up with a design for a new light tank, the T-17, in 9/1948. It was a tank with a crew of four, armour 10-60mm thick, armed with a 75mm gun with revolver magazine and two machine guns. The gun was introduced to the MNO representatives as early as 1947 at the firing range in Hluboke. According to a drawing by Martin Dubánek, it was a classic chassis concept consisting of four large running wheels, a drive and tension wheel and three support pulleys on each side. The hull had a modern shape in the front and rear formed by armour sloping at angles (the nose was similar in shape to the IS-3). The sides of the hull were but perpendicular. The turret also has a modern rounded shape (similar to the turret of e.g. T-55). The gun mask was similar in shape to the so-called Topfblende used on some German tanks and self-propelled guns during World War II. However, the intriguing design probably never got further than the level of consideration. After all, light tanks did not have much hope of success in the post-war era.
