During exercise in the waters off the east coast of the united states occurred at 15:30 eastern time to collision of two vessels of the U.S. NAVY. In a collision clashed submarine USS Montpelier (SSN-765) missile cruiser USS San Jacinto (CG-56).
Both vessels have been collision damaged, but are able to float using your own drive. In the accident no one was injured.
Sailors of the cruiser allegedly spotted the periscope of a submarine about a hundred yards ahead of the ship, but they could no longer prevent the collision.
