8 x 47 R Schützen
German, black powder, sporting cartridge introduced around 1880. It is almost identical to the Austro-Hungarian 8 x 46.5 R cartridge also used by shooting clubs. Ballistic data for both cartridges is unknown. The cartridge in the picture was made by Babette Stahl, Metalhulsenfabrik Suhl, Thuringe, Germany, on the right is the 7,62x 39 cartridge.
