Reconnaissance version of the RB-45C Tornado carried 25 M122 flash bombs in the inner bomb chamber.
The first XB-45 took off on March 17/March 1947 in Muroc Dry Lake in California.
The RB-45C was used in the highest degree of secrecy by RAF pilots in espionage operations over the Soviet Union.
During the Cold War, the 47th Bombardment Group also had some places in Czechoslovakia on its list of strategic targets.
