8x42 R M.88

German hunting charge, placed on the market prior to the year 1900. It's about the short version of the hub 8x51 Mauser with less power. Shot 10,0 g has a muzzle velocity of 540 m/sec, the charge is already completely outdated. In this case, it is a product of the company Deutsche Metallpatronen, (later DWM) in Karlsruhe, Germany. To the right is the bullet 7,92 x 57, photo by author.
