Hards, Alan Frederick

The Son Of Air Vice Marshal F. G. D. Hardse, CBE, DSO, DFC, and Alice Hardsové, the husband of Rosemary Makepeace Hardsové, from Cuckfieldu in Sussex.

In 1934 appointed to the rank of Pilot Officer, 1938 promoted to Flight Lieutenant. A year later promoted to the rank of Squadron Leader. The commander of the 206. squadrons of the RAF. 1942 awarded the order of DSO with this quote: "This officer has completed 30 successful operations, including attacks on enemy surface ships on the French coast and against enemy ground targets in the occupied territories."

1944 appointed commander of the air base, South Farnborough. Promoted to Group Captain. Died when testing the code of the aeroplane To 335 in Friday, 18. January 1946 at the age of 31 years.
