Quenzler, Hermann

Born in 1909 in Nuremberg, he graduated from the Technical university in Darmstadt, where he met with a group of students, who were engaged in the construction of gliders and flying on them. Hermann you flying fell in love with and received a master's degree in aerospace engineering. He worked a short time in shipyard in Hamburg, but in the early 30. years passed in the company Dornier, where he worked not only on the design team, but also as a test pilot. In this position he remained until 1945.

Quenzler wanted to continue in aerospace engineering, but in a bombed-out and occupied Germany air production does not occur. Therefore, in 1953, he emigrated with his family to California, where it expressed its interest in the company Lockheed. However, already in 1956, he changed employers and moved to Seattle, where he began working for the company Boeing. For this company then he worked for the next 20 years, he participated e.g. on the development of the aircraft 700 series.

In 1974 he retired, he worked as a consultant for its parent company Dornier in the development of the aeroplane Seastar.

He died in 2002 of pneumonia.
