Fort
This is the place where previously stood a larger fortification, which could have rather the character of a city. The term is general in the us taken for a prehistoric fortified sites, however, with the exception of the celtic strongholds (however, at the time of the la tene occur even hradiště) and then not for the roman military construction (marching camps, etc.). Furthermore, taken in the early middle ages, including the major great moravian settlements (that was rather already cities). Theoretically, the term "fort" could also mark the ruins of the castles, but for these this term is not used. Generally is a settlement defined as a fortified area, today only in the form of well-preserved mounds and ditches.
