Factory upgrading of an unknown number of tanks M4A3 took place in February and march of 1945. Since the tank was equipped with a 75mm cannon M34A1, a new shield and yoke for fixing especially when moving around. Internal adjustments were consistent with the latest versions of the Sherman tank. The product was identified as M4A3E9.
