Published by Ivo Železný, Prague 2000, price 199 CZK From the original McAleese's Fighting Manual, Orion, London 1998 translated by René J. Tesar.
Written by a former member of the British Army Airborne Regiment, SAS, Rhodesian SAS and South African Army, based on his extensive combat experience. The book is a kind of textbook and training guide for members of small light infantry units. It discusses the training and execution of standard tactical situations and gives numerous examples from practice. It also discusses specific features of combat in the desert, jungle, bush, polar conditions, urban, forest, and night. Provides principles and guidelines for first aid, escape and evasion, recommended captive behavior, and the art of survival. The last section discusses marksmanship training and combat vaccinations. This work is absolutely unspectacular and realistic and is a valuable compendium of dearly paid experience not found elsewhere.

I add my personal praise for this book. It is written in a very readable way, among other things by interspersing concrete instructions with real experiences from the events. The chapter breakdown is clear enough and appropriately supplemented with drawings. A good read for anyone interested in this subject.
