The us navy (US Navy) lost two aircraft McDonnell Douglas / Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet after they collided. All 4 pilots successfully ejected and were rescued by the yacht Pammy (formerly wrong placed, that it was a fishing boat Tammy). Later it took the crew of the coast guard (US Coast Guard) in a helicopter Sikorsky HH-60 Jayhawk. Both aircraft belonged to VFA-211 stationed in the Naval Air Station Oceana. The incident occurred about 25 miles east of Oregon Inlet, Nags Head, NC.
