The Syrian Arab Air Force lost an Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 of unspecified version that crashed during takeoff. The pilot and two other people on or near the runway were killed. The cause of the accident, which happened at Hama Air Base, is believed to be a technical malfunction of the aircraft.
