Czechoslovak fighter pilot, participant in the offensive over occupied Europe and the Slovak National Uprising. After his escape to Poland in the summer of 1939, he took a ship to France and after its surrender to England. After completing his training, he joined the 310 Squadron in April 1942. With it he undertook actions over occupied Europe and in August 1943, after completing an operational tour, he flew as a ferry-pilot in the 2nd DF. He volunteered for the USSR, where he left in February 1944. He became a member of the 1st Czechoslovak Fighter Regiment and fought with it in the SNP. After the end of the Uprising in October 1944, he flew to the Soviet side. In December 1944 he became an instructor in the 2nd Czechoslovak Fighter Regiment and remained with it until the end of the war.
