Lieutenant colonel retired Alois Dubec was born in 1923 on the Vlachově Lhota to the family of a peasant. To during the war avoided the total deployment, rather in 1941, he entered the protektorátního government troops. In 1944, when the eastern front approached the former czechoslovak border, most of the government soldiers deployed to Italy – should be helping the German nazis to keep the conquered territory. In Addition To The. H. Frank knew that the Czechs will not be willing to fight against the Red army. Mr. Dubec with several other soldiers from the government troops defected – first to the mountains to the Italian partisans, and then to Switzerland, where he joined the czechoslovak foreign army. Through France to get to Britain, there was selected for pilot training in the RAF. Because the war in Europe drew to a close, were pilots trained specifically to fight in the Far east.


Home to the motherland to Alois Dubec returned in August 1945. He remained in the army and with the tension expected the negotiations of foreign minister Jan Masaryk, with the british government about the continuation of the training of the czechoslovak pilots in the RAF. This should, however, the czechoslovak government had to fully pay for, and so were the pilots recommended to complete the training at the Air force academy in Hradec Králové. But there wasn't Alois Dubec adopted, did not have a high school diploma. Because he wanted to fly, joined the air plant in Šternberk. Shortly after, however, he asked about discharge from the army. Understand that the development in the company is not on track to democracy, as imagined. He worked as a civilian employee of the Military geographical institute, he was, however, recommended that you as a former soldier from the west found other employment. To support his family he worked in a stone quarry, in the mines in the Ostrava region, the melioracích, construction of roads and railways. He lived in a trailer park, separated from his family. Divorced. He decided to emigrate. On his retirement he recalls: "In 1968, shortly after the occupation of Czechoslovakia, we with a companion have left the republic. For leaving the republic was Alois Dubec sentenced in absentia to two years and seven months ' imprisonment. Fortunately, he was warmly received in Switzerland, which welcomed technology with open arms. Mr. Dubec started working as a technician on construction sites. After 1989 he began to Czechoslovakia to visit regularly, after 2000 he came back permanently and my wife and I lived in Luhačovice.

Col. v. v. Alois Dubec died on 19.07.2019 in a boarding house for the elderly Doubravka, in the Doubravčicích for Cologne.
