American astronaut, one predkovia pochádzajú zo Slovenska (old rodičia Stefan Čerňan and Anna Čerňanová, High above Kysucou) and the Czech republic (Frantisek and Rosalie Cihlářovi of Bernartic at Camp and Nuzic u Bechyně). Attended the sa 3 vesmínych mission aboard Gemini 9A (03.06.1966-06.06.1966), Apollo 10 (18.05.1969-26.05.1969) and Apollo 17 (07.12.1972-19.12.1972). Poslednou misiou súčasne zavŕšil first years of man on mesiac.
