Freikorps Epp (později Bayerisches Schützenkorps)

The Bayerisches Schützenkorps was formed on February 11, 1919 in Ohrdruff originally as the Freikorps von Epp, was renamed on April 23, 1919.


Initially, it was not allowed to recruit and train troops in Bavaria by the Bavarian government, but after the intervention of Gustav Noski, a compromise was reached - that volunteers from Bavaria could enlist but the training site would be in Thuringen.



In combat action against the Munich Republic (Münchener Räterepublik) in Munich April-May 1919 and in the Ruhr in April 1920.


It was used to form the unit: Reichswehr-Brigade 21.
