Latil KTL 4 was based on civilian Latil TL tractors (agricultural, forestry and colonial versions). The tractor was developed to tow cannons 105 long model 1913 Schneider. The first prototype was tested in Vincennes in 1934. Serial production began a year later. Two versions were created. The first version was in the form of a tractor with a towing pivot for towing a cannon. The second version had a body in the back with benches for eight men. This version was also used to transport ammunition to the cannons. As of September 1, 1939, there were 163 of these tractors in the army. After the occupation of France, they also served in the German army, after the landing of the Allies in 1944, these tractors were also about French units, which captured and used them after the war.
