The company Krupp developed a relatively simple system of labelling manufactured vehicles. For example, probably the most famous vehicle – the Krupp Protze carrying the factory designation L 2 H 143 (army ozančení Kfz.70). At first glance, meaningless numbers. Let's see what they mean:

H - Hochrahmen (here I'm not exactly sure of the translation, who knows, to fill in. Most Kruppů has H used, however, and the letters M and N)
1 - Modifizierung -modification of vehicles (designation of the type series)
4 - number of cylinders
3 – the number of the os
So the Krupp Protze is a three-axis, four-cylinder truck, which can carry two tons of cargo.
For some types of vehicles stated in the first letter of another letter of the second, indicating the type of power unit:
D - Dieselmotor – diesel engine
B – Benzinmotor – gasoline engine
H – Holzmotor – the engine on wood gas
So if you come across a Developer with the designation LD 2 H 142 simply come to the conclusion that this is a truck powered by a diesel engine with a storage load of 2t, four-cylinder engine with two axles.
