In may 1927 left the factory in Hasbrouck Heights first Fokker F.10. It was dvanáctimístný transport aircraft classic Fokkerovy construction, continuing in the footsteps of the famous F.VII, which namely in the USA built not, dozens of them here but they were assembled and adjusted for local customers from the Dutch parts. In appearance from F.VII/3m did not differ much, it was also the wing with the fuselage condensed from the steel pipes, the wing made of plywood and the engines of Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp in the bow and under the wings. The first three machines were delivered to Western Air Express, which is put on your "demonstration" route Los Angeles-San Francisco. It wasn't the latest machines for this company and it wasn't about a single customer, F.10 have become almost as popular as the previous Universaly and co-built Super Universal. A year later they were F.10 on the production line accompanied by versions of the F.10A, přezdívanou Super Trimotor. She was again slightly enlarged, with a more powerful version of the engine, the Wasp and place for 12-14 passengers. This version has been used e.g. by the company Pan American Airways on flights from Key West to Havana, the already mentioned Western Air Express, American Airways, Transamerican Airways, and Transcontinental & Western Air. Us military air force at this time engaged in several dozen of Fokker F.VII. In the spring of 1929, the USAAC bought the one F.10A, which flew as a staff C-5 to Bolling Field in Washington D.C. Briefly was also used to test engines Wright R-975 Whirlwind. Another F.10A, in 1930, bought and tested by the navy under the designation of RA-4, but was found inappropriate for the service.

International users this time many did not, actually only one F.10A sold in 1935 Western Air Express to Panama. A second foreign user so completely foreign was not. Pan American at this time was trying to build a system of air lines leading from the USA to the countries of central America, in accordance with the plan of Foreign Air Mail the u.s. postal service. But because the mexican government refused to grant Pan am permission to operate on its territory, the company in January 1929 šalamounsky has purchased all the shares of the mexican company Compañia Mexicana de Aviación. This new subsidiary of the company then "sold" several of their aircraft including, perhaps, four F.10A, which complement the route between the american and the guatemalan border, where the cargo is heading south to the area of the panama canal took over the again of the machine to Pan am. Route FAM of 5 so began operation in February 1929 (and "real" may), the inaugural years was made by Charles Lindbergh.

The company itself Fokker had a problem all uakázky to satisfy, already in 1927 had to open a new plant in the Passaic near the home Teterboro, and in August 1928, was officially opened a plant in Glen Dale. The construction of the hull of the tubes welded with gas, originally by american experts cast aside, proved to veleúspěšnou and spread quickly to other manufacturers. Great Universal, F.10A and amfibie F.11-A exhibited at the chicago exhibition in the year 1928 have been identified as the most advanced machines on the civilian market. The only problem it represented the wings, at this time mostly produced in the Netherlands, because in the united states long lacked the manufacturer with the necessary mic skills able to deliver sufficiently high-quality plywood. The Dutch Fokker wings made from Lithuanian birch. Just the wings then became the undoing of the american Fokker and led to events that completely changed the air transport not only in the united states.

31. march 1931 crashed Fokker F.10 the company's Transcontinental & Western Air, flying from Kansas City, Missouri, to Los Angeles. The machine, according to some information, shortly after that got through the storm, collapsed the wing and close to the kansas town Bazaar crashed into a farm. No survivors of the eight people on board, including the stars of american sport Knut Rockneho. The death of the team coach of american football the university of Notre Dame, flying to participate in the filming of the movie freely inspired by just his team, rocked an american company and after weeks she was constantly přetřásána on the pages of newspapers. Because the cause was never completely revealed, there were many many rumours and wild speculation. In any case, but it had its share of problem with the design of the wings - it was revealed that the wings longer period of time were penetrating damp, which gradually undermine the coherence of the glue in the plywood. About five weeks later, it was decided to ground all třímotorové Fokker built in 1929 and perform their inspection. This decision has affected particularly the Pan American Airways, Western Air Express and American Airways and involved a total of 35 machines. Enraged Anthony Fokker was assured that the ban on the operation is not directed against his company and its design procedures, but against the users who have neglected maintenance, Fokker Aircraft Corp. however, in any case, was strongly affected.

The ban was lifted after two weeks, the wings of all 35 Fokker was found to be in the right, shame but it has already become and Fokker quickly disappearing from the operation. TWA straight odstrojilo and burned several of their F.10 directly at its headquarters in Kansas City. Prefer to get the aircraft with all-metal structures, as was Ford Trimotor (whose production, but it was just discontinued in 1933 as unprofitable), Boeing 247 and led to the birth of the famous Douglas DC-2. Another result was the termination of cooperation of Anthony Fokker with the concern General Motors, which at this time owned 60% of the shares of the General Aviation Corp. (new jnémo Fokker Aircraft), and his departure back to the Netherlands. General Aviation without the Fokker survived only two years, before it was absorbed by the new concern North American Aviation.
