Operační historie:
Postavena v Newport News jako třináctá dokončená jednotka třídy Essex. Randoplh byla subverzí s dlouhým trupem a do služby vstoupila 9.10.1944. účastnila se bojových akcí při vylodění na Iwodžimě a náletů na Japonsko v roce 1945. Dne 11.3.1945 byla zasažena kamikadze na kotvišti Ulithi, ale rychle ji opravili. Po válce byla v červnu 1947 odzbrojena, následně modernizována a vrátila se do služby v roce 1953.
