The newly formed Hungarian army had an acute shortage of armoured vehicles in the 1950s. On 11 February 1952, an official request was made to develop an indigenous armoured personnel carrier. Very quickly, documents and finances were prepared for the new project, which was based on the Csepel 800 artillery tractor. By the end of 1952, a 1:1 scale wooden mock-up of the vehicle was unveiled. Buhužial, due to the capacity problems of the underdeveloped industry, it was not possible to produce such a demanding vehicle. Therefore, the project was very quickly cancelled in 1953. The project used not only the Csepel 800 tractor platform, but also its engine and transmission. The vehicle, of simple box construction, was to be protected by armour with a maximum armour thickness of 25 mm at the most exposed front section. The armament of the vehicle consisted of a single 48.M machine gun 48.M (the Hungarian designation of the DP-27 machine gun) with a circular bore. The vehicle was of open design, with a compartment behind the driver's and commander's compartment for transporting infantry. The crew had five firing ports on each side of the armoured superstructure.
