Vo the age of nearly 102 years zomrel 28.01.2020 at home in Hampshire Paul Caswell Powe Farnes, posledné žijúce stíhacie ace of the battle of Britániu. Paul Farnes vstúpil to the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in 1938, neskôr bol zaradený to 501. squadron RAF, with that fought vo Francúzsku in 1940. Neskôr pôsobil u 229. perute RAF in the Severnej Afrike and Malte. From leta 1942 pôsobil on veliteľstve the RAF in Iraq. In júli 1945 sa becomes veliteľom 611. perute RAF and in August veliteľom 164. perute RAF. Service in the RAF ended 27.06.1958 when odišiel retired in the rank of Wing Commander.
During the battle of vo Francúzsku destroyed one airplane, two lietadlá zostrelil in cooperation and one zostrelil probably. During the battle of Britániu destroyed six lietadiel, one probably and six lietadiel damaged.
The total score represents the 8 destroyed lietadiel (2 in cooperation), 2 probably destroyed and 11 poškodených lietadiel.
