The prototype of this armoured vehicle was designed by the director of Charron. The vehicle, using the Charron civilian car platform, had the front of the armoured body heavily sloped and therefore the steering of the vehicle was moved to the rear. The bodywork consisted of 7 mm thick riveted sheet metal. The vehicle was introduced in 4/1915. The vehicle was appreciated, but the makers were not satisfied. They compared themselves to Renault products and wanted to develop a more balanced competitive vehicle. So they redesigned the bodywork and their design received an order to build a modified prototype on 7/8/1915.
