The regiment was a star in the Great patriotic war. Its pilots fought the aircraft I-16 on the Karelském and pok on Volchovském and Leningrad front, where they got the fighters LaGG-3. Since the summer of 1942 fought on the machines of La-5 in the battle of Stalingrad and in the course of rou, 1943 in the framework of the Severokavkazkého and the Southern front. In July of the same year the regiment participated in battles at Kursk.
