It is possible that if by chance there was a conversion of another machine, it could also serve in Germany, for example, on test tracks, or directly in the plant for the production of tanks during repairs (similar to VKz 35.01 - bergepanzer, which was created on the chassis of the development branch of Tiger). However, this is only unsubstantiated information.
In the vehicle condition report schwere Panzer-Abteilung 509 from 1.9.1944 there is one Bergetiger. In the vehicle condition report schwere Panzer-Abteilung 501 from 1.10.1944 there is a pair of Bergetigers. These vehicles appear in the unit's reports for the next two months.

Maybe a real improvised Bergetiger? Pulling a captured IS-2 in the field, or somewhere in Germany (Kummersdorf)? IS-2 has been saved schwere Panzer-Abteilung 506. Myth about "Bergetiger"
One damaged Tiger from 508.schwere Panzer-Abteilung was modified by the repair unit into a machine that was to serve as a mobile crane for carrying loads, for laying charges used for demining or removing barriers ( did not serve for rescue tasks - was not[/bzer " ). The modification in this unit was probably due to the use of heavy demolition vehicles Borgward B IV in this unit and the need for their maintenance. The machine was damaged by hitting the rear of the tower in a place under the command tower. The reconstruction was to take place between March 1, 1944 - March 5, 1944. The cannon was removed and the tower ceiling was fixed to the welded crane holders (10 tons mentioned on achtungpanzer.com is a mistake, according to the design it is in my opinion max. 2 ton crane). The only known photographs of this machine from 508.schwere Panzer-Abteilung come from Italy around Anzio, where this machine fell into the hands of the Allies (English). The erroneous designation as "bergetiger" arose in the report on the seizure of this machine, and this was constantly incorrectly taken over in the post-war literature. The logical reason why this machine cannot be considered a regular rescue machine is the minimum of modifications to achieve a reduction in the weight of a classic tank, the underpowering of which is known. Classic bergepanzers have towers removed to achieve weight reduction. The absence of the weight of the cannon minus the weight of the crane and other equipment (towing equipment) is not sufficient for the reliable construction of the towing vehicle. Due to the presence of the towing device, it can be assumed that it only served to tow light Borgward. According to recent findings, this is a combination of the command tank hull and a standard turret.
The vehicle is described in this topic only because there is still information that it is a so-called Bergetiger. In fact, it can be assigned the unofficial and derived name "Ladungsleger" Tiger.
