Breguet Alizé was introduced into the armament of the French Navy in March 1959. A total of 75 aircraft were included in the status of units Flottille 4F, Flottille 6F and Flottille 9F, which operated from aircraft carriers Foch, Clémenceau a Arromanches (Flottille 9F was dissolved in July 1972). In 1980, 24 aircraft were modernized to the Br.1050M standard. The modifications concerned the installation of the Thomson-CSF Iguane radar, the Omega Equinox navigation system, communication systems and REB equipment. Further modernization was a problem in the early 1990s and involved the installation of new avionics. In the spring of 1999, Alizé participated in Operation Allied Force, taking off from the aircraft carrier Foch. However, it was already a swan song of their deployment, because in September 2000, with the arrival of aircraft E-2C Hawkeye were decommissioned. The farewell ceremony took place on Friday 15 September 2000 at Nîmes Garons.

The Indian Navy became the second user of Alizé aircraft, and a contract for the supply of 12 aircraft was signed in 1960. In the same year, two Indian crews went to France, at Hy & # 232; res, to undergo retraining for this type (from these pilots later became instructors trained by other Indian personnel assigned to serve on the Alizé type). The aircraft were put into service with the 310th Indian Naval Air Squadron. In July 1961, they were embarked in the French port of Toulon on the Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which set out with them on a trip to India. , where she arrived in early November 1961. A quartet of Alizé aircraft was to operate from the aircraft carrier, while the others were to be deployed at the Garuda base. Indian aircraft got into sharp action very early, because in December 1961, India launched a successful attempt to acquire the Portuguese colony of Goa located on west coast of the Indian subcontinent. Alizé 310th Squadron during this time in the Goa area under INS Vikrant patrol flights. Other large-scale combat operations of these aircraft took place during Bangladesh Wars in December 1971. Alizé again operated from an aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which operated in the Bay of Bengal. The task of the crews of the 310th Squadron here was patrol flights, mines of ports in the territory of East Pakistan (today's Bangladesh) and attacks on Pakistani ships. On December 5, during a reconnaissance mission over the Pussur River, they attacked the Pakistani merchant ships Mini Lady, Ondarda and Tarqueez Mohammed with depth charges and rockets, with several direct hits. That same night, a pair of Alizé planes attacked the Salamat and Shahbaz gunboats. On the night of December 7-8, the 310th Squadron attacked Cox´s Bazar Airport, dropping 8 bombs weighing 500 pounds, damaging the local runway. On December 10, however, one Br.1050 (IN203) was shot down using a cannon M61A1 Vulcan Pakistani Starfighterem, who "pinched" W/Cdr Arif Iqbal, who was the commander of the 9th Squadron (this unit was the only one in the Pakistani Air Force American fighters F-104 Starfighter). The shooting took place over the Arabian Sea near Karachi. The entire crew was killed in the wreckage of the aircraft - LtCdr Ashok Roy, Lt H. S. Sirohi and Acmn O. Vijayan. Alizé continued to serve after the end of the war, but their time also gradually approached. Since 1987, they have operated only from ground bases. They were finally eliminated in 1991.
