26.5 mm signal cartridges
Pyrotechnic compositions burning with colored flames are used for signaling. Most armies use a three-color light combination in red, green, and white (or yellow) for optical communication. Signaling devices with colored flames may also be used for daily signaling, but the color and intensity of the flame must guarantee good visibility at a minimum distance of 2,5 km.
The firing means may have one or more colored flares which, when the prescribed height is reached, fall freely or on a parachute. Ammunition is fired with a handgun, the range of the flare when firing at an angle of 80 - 90o is about 120 m.

In addition to colored lights, colored smoke is also used for daily signaling.

26.5 mm signal shrapnel hub - 26.5 - Sig Š:
it is a training aid designed for day and night signaling and for depicting low sprays.
The explosion occurs in the amount of min. 65 m. The flash and the resulting white cloud are visible during the day at a distance of at least 1 km, the sound (wound) is well audible up to a distance of 5 km.
Firing of 26.5 mm signal cartridges is performed using a 26.5 mm signal gun vz. 44/67.


To recognize 26.5 mm signal cartridges, these cartridges have signs that are recognizable both visually and tactilely, and thus day and night.
