The 1V16 squad command and control vehicle (CSCV) is normally positioned in the firing position area. During combat, it is moved simultaneously with the battery firing platoons.
It is intended to address the following tasks :
- To calculate the elements of firing,
- to determine the method of shooting targets,
- the automatic transfer of firing elements and the method of firing targets into battery firing positions,
- to process the results of the topographic-geodetic connection,
- the measurement of ground weather elements,
- to maintain liaison with regimental ( group) headquarters, squad leader, battery commanders and senior officers, and assigned artillery reconnaissance assets.
1V16 vehicle equipment :
(a) Means for preparation of firing elements : 9V59 computer with STA-67M rangefinder, PUO-9M fire control apparatus, apparatus for determining aggregate corrections,
(b) communication equipment : rdst R-123 2 pcs, R-111, R-130M, receiver R-326,
call device 1T-803M, telephone hookup P-193M, 2 pcs field telephone TA-57, 3 spools TK-2 of 500 m tlf. cable P-274M,
(c) survey instruments: portable weather kit DMK-1, radiation and chemical survey instruments GO-27,
(d) sources of electrical voltage : power pack, generator GIV-8/6000, batteries,
(e) chemical protection equipment : filter-ventilation, hot-air, decontamination,
(f) armament : RPG-7VN + 5 rounds, 7,62 mm machine gun PKMB + 500 rounds.
The Computer 9V59 is the basic means to calculate the elements of firing.
