Improvised rebuilds of older versions of the StuG were created in field workshops. There is only sketchy information about the existence of an ammunition vehicle based on the most widely used version Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G. Several vehicles stripped of armament were converted in 1944/45. The hole created when the gun was dismantled was plugged with an armoured plate. The machines were used to transport ammunition of 75mm (StuG) and 105mm (StuH) calibre. Their appearance resembled StuG school vehicles, but the interior was probably adapted to carry ammunition.
Some information on the use of such vehicles does exist, however. They are said to have been found in the 500. Sturmgeschutz - Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung, where, in addition to machines stripped of armament and converted to run on wood gas used as training machines, there were also machines used to supply ammunition. The unit operated as part of the strike reserve in Poznan, Poland 1945.

Otázne je, či to je muničné vozidlo. Vzhľadom na to, že sa pravdepodne jedná len o poľné úpravy, je to možné.
