The production came from this vehicle 30 years ago and in the british army very well serve in light combat field campaigns or during military training in the sixties. In the british army Saladin was replaced by vehicle series CVR(T), but still this car used in Africa and in Asia. It is reported that a few cars are kept even in the Uk, so its wide wheels would, if necessary, could even go on the war path. It is not amphibious and does not have a system given by fb or night vision devices. Cannon caliber 76 mm shoots the missile, HE, canister and HESH.

When she was of the armament of the west German BGS (Bundesgrenzschutz - Federal border protection) in 1963 decommissioned vehicles M-8 Greyhound (Sonderwagen M-8), in the arsenal of special intervention units BGS lacked adequate armament, capable of use for the "overlap of the state border" and at any other events.
Therefore, it was in 1966 purchased a total of 80 (according to some sources, 96) vehicles of british origin FV601 Saladin, type in the arsenal of the BGS classified as a Sonderwagen III Saladin. In Saladinů BGS was (as with Sonderwagenů M-8, armed with only a machine gun MG 42 in the tower instead of the removed cannon) partially reduced the armament - there was only the cannon 76 mm, coaxial and anti-aircraft machine gun were dismantled.
All vehicles Sonderwagen III Saladin was from the arsenal of the BGS decommissioned in 1973, the fate of discarded vehicles is not certain, it cannot be excluded that it was sold off users from some african countries.
