KOPULE - válcový, mírně komolý pancéřový prvek zakončený vrchlíkem a pevně zapuštěný do stropu fortu nebo srubu , jehož úkolem byla daleká uzavírací střelba z instalovaných pěchotních nebo dělostřeleckých zbraní. V případě opatřená pozorovacími průzory nebo periskopem plnila kopule rovněž funkci pevného pozorovacího stanoviště. Pokud hrozilo přímé nepřátelské ostřelování, nahrazovala kopule pro svou malou velikost instalaci zbraně ve střílně pod betonem.
