This cannon was used on all German. battleships (dreadnoughts), battle cruisers, the armored cruiser Blücher and light cruisers built during the war. Pre-war cruisers (some) were rearmed with this gun (previously 10.5 cm). They were also carried by the light cruiser Emden (1925) until it was rearmed to 15 cm SK C/36 guns in 1942. In WWII it was used in coastal batteries and on corsair cruisers.
