SOV - R-113 (VKV radiostanice)

It is designed for VHF communication in tank and artillery units, it is placed in tanks, armoured personnel carriers and combat or auxiliary vehicles.

Operation: F3 - simplex, half duplex and service reception
Antennae: 4 m pole range 20 km
emergency antenna - wire from spare parts, range not specified
Power supply: combat vehicle on-board 26 V and 13 V, negative pole connected to the carcass

Kit includes : radio station with suspension bracket and cover, antenna part - variometer, coaxial feed cable, antenna accessories, antenna and two steel spikes, source cable, box with spare parts, hood with accessories and chest switch.

Petr OK1RP,see below, you are right, she didn't belong to VHF even in the 70's, but she was an inertia from the ASTRA series where except R-105 and partially R-108 none were in the VHF band (it starts from 30MHz), but stations were designated as VHF. For a long time the Soviets sorted equipment from 25 MHz onwards into VHF. The division from 25 MHz in turn has its origin in German technology where KV equipment mostly ended at 25 MHz.

just a little note for less knowledgeable readers...


Regarding the R-113, where the working range is 20-22.375MHz, it is according to the current division a HF radio station (not VHF). In manuals and handbooks from the 70's, however, these radios were referred to as "large-microwave". This is therefore not an error in the description of the radio, but a "mismatch" with the current band split.
