Body of the unit: on the back of the body - at the top - a lock is fixed, which serves to connect the unit with the headlamp OU-3GK. On the side there is a bumper. On the body of the instrument there is an iris lever and a shutter lever. The shutter is used to limit the amount of light entering the instrument. In higher light levels at night and also when checking during the day. The anti-glare device is used to protect against headlight flashes, flares and fires. The eyepieces are housed in special housings that allow changing the distance between their axes. They also allow dioptric adjustment. There is a switch with D (day) and N (night) on it. It shows the position of the mirror switching handle. It has a drying insert on it. It has a front rest on it, 2 handles - used to guide it, to tilt it, and to rotate the turret. There are control buttons in the handles. In the left handle there is a button for guiding the gunner to the target, in the right handle there is a button for keeping the field of view of the device on the target at the time of turret rotation, it is used to momentarily turn on the infrared illuminator of the OU-3GK. The infrared illuminator is used to illuminate the road, terrain and objects with infrared or visible light. A filter for infrared is mounted for observation at night. It is covered when not in use. The TKN-3 is a binocular, combined observation instrument whose electronic-optical system ensures the possibility of observation both day and night.
