30, 40 and 50 mm illumination rockets R-Os
Purpose and tactical-technical data of illuminating rockets:
The 30, 40, and 50 mm illumination rockets are designed to illuminate terrain and targets at night that are in front of our troop battle formations.
Illumination by rockets is carried out to orient troops in the terrain, to observe enemy fire assets and to conduct fire by mechanized units, tanks and artillery flanking fires.
The 50 mm rocket provides the capability of conducting aimed fire at night from tanks and artillery weapons up to a distance of 1500 m, from small arms, at all ranges. The rocket has a special long-range device, allowing to change the range of illumination depending on the combat activity.
For the 50 mm R-Os, two values are given for the highest angle of fire and the flare length of flight, because this rocket has an adjusting ring by which the flare length of flight can be varied, thus adapting the resulting effect to the desired one.
