Lavochkin La-17 - overview of variants
La-17 (isdělije 201) - 1953, aerial target with RD-900 engine, launched from carrier Tu-4NM, belly landing. Approximately 4581 pieces.
La-17M (izdělije 203) - 1959, RD-9BK jet engine (rebuilt from "flown" RD-9B engines from MiG-19), launch from ramp using booster rockets.
La-17MA (izdělije 202) - 1963, AP-73 programmable autopilot.
La-17MM (izdělije 202M) - 1963, RD-9BKR engine with speed control to fly at low altitudes, landing on deformable skids.
La-17n (izdělije 201n) - 1959, La-17 conversion allowing launch from a ramp using additional rockets.
La-17R (izdělije 210FR) - 1956, design of a reconnaissance version of the La-17.
La-17BR - 1958, similar project with much longer range.
La-17R (izdělije 204)- 1962, a reconnaissance UAV derived from the La-17M.
La-17RM (izdělije 204) - 1965, an upgrade using the La-17MM engine and skids.
La-17RU (izdělije 204U) - A "unified" variant of the reconnaissance UAV, with maximum unification of the design with the aerial target. It is not known to me whether it was ever built.
La-17UM (izdělije 204U) - a "unified" variant of the aerial target. Both versions used the same RD-9BK series 2 engine and the same fuselage, differing only in equipment. It is not known to me if it was ever built.
La-17MM (La-17K) - 1977, a modification of the La-17MM in response to the depletion of RD-9B engine stocks. This version used the R-11K engine, a rebuild of the R-11F-300 series of engines from the MiG-21, Yak-28 and Su-15. La-17K was the factory designation, still serving under the La-17MM designation. Production until 1993.
The NAI CK-1 - 1966, a modified Chinese copy of the La-17 (is.201) modified for the WP-6 jet engine (a copy of the RD-9B), takeoff from a drop trolley, landing on its belly, later on a parachute.
