In 1940, experiments were conducted with the construction of anti-aircraft tanks.
Two Vickers Light Tank Mk.V chassis were chosen for the experiments
One was fitted with a Boulton-Paul gun turret with four machine guns designed for bombers. Initial trials were conducted with full "glazing" which was later removed and replaced with folding armour plates. The second tank was armed with two 15 mm Besa heavy machine guns.
The vehicles did not go beyond the test phase.
