Československý legionář, po návratu do vlasti pracoval jako účetní a později vedoucí účtárny Československého červeného kříže. Po okupaci byl krátce vězněn, po návratu z vězení se stal vedoucím účtárny na ústředí Masarykovy ligy proti tuberkulóze a zapojil se do činnosti odbojové organizace, působící zde. Spolu s manželkou Liboslavou (1892-1942) poskytl svůj byt jako jeden z úkrytů pro Jozefa Gabčíka a Jana Kubiše, jejich dcera Liboslava Fafková údajně měla s Gabčíkem vážnout známost. Celá rodina byla zatčena koncem června 1942 a všichni její členové byli v říjnu 1942 odsouzeni k smrti a popraveni.

1939 after the occupation he joined the resistance organization ÚVOD (Central Leadership of the Home Resistance)

From 10.4.1942 Josef Gabčík lived in his apartment until the assassination, after the assassination Gabčík hid again for a short time at the Fafks', in Kolínská Street 2

After 27.5.1942 he found and arranged the hiding of the paratroopers in the crypt of the Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Resslova Street

22.6.1942 arrested by the Gestapo together with his daughters and wife

24.10.1942 executed together with his family in Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria


The memorial plaque of the whole family is placed in the Bethlehem Chapel in Žižkov.
