The regiment was founded on 13 January 1734. It was founded by General of Cavalry, Count Alexander Károly in Sopron and Bratislava
1769 - assigned the name of the 6th Hussar Regiment
1798 - retained the name of the 6th. Hussar Regiment
1848 - during the Revolution part of the men deserted and the regiment was reorganized and replenished in Veselí na Morave
