Bojnik Mato Čulinovič
Born e 8.6.1907, near Zagreb. In 1928 he graduated from pilot school, in 1931, became a military pilot, and six years later fighter. Before the war he was a member of the Ustaši. In April 1941 he was promoted to major and appointed commander of the 205.bomber squadron.
In July 1941 he joined in the rank of bojnik in the air force of the Independent Croatian state.When in October 1941 15(Kroat)./JG 52 sent to the eastern front,he held her Čulinovič the function of deputy commander. 9.2.1942 shot down two I-16 and in July increased its score to 12 confirmed and 6 unconfirmed kills. In August he returned to Croatia and took over command of the 1.BH at the airport Borongaj. Čulinovič died 7.10.1942, when one members of the ground staff sympathising with the national liberation movement of the sabotaged Čulinovičův 17K and he exploded in flight.
