Born 3.2.1920 Zvolen
In Zvolen he graduated from the municipal school and 2 classes of the burgher school, then he started to learn to be a roofer, but before graduation he moved with his parents to the Ostrava region.
Jan worked as a labourer in Karlova Hut
1941 he received a call from the Slovak army to enlist, but he did not respond to it
1942 he was involved in the resistance and when the arrests of his collaborators began he decided to hide in the Slovak army
1.10.1942 conscripted to the Slovak army and assigned to basic training at the 11th Artillery Regiment
16.11.1942 sent to the liaison course and trained as an artillery radio operator
March 1943 rejoins his unit and goes with it to Italy for technical work in the Capandocia area
6.3.1944 defects from the Slovak army, gets to the Czechoslovak collection camp near Naples, reports to the Czechoslovak army. Army
By December 1944 recruited into intelligence group to be sent to occupied Czechoslovakia, trained as a radio operator, assigned to EMBASSY group, underwent special diversionary courses, para course, intelligence courses
On 21.12.1944 he was dropped with EMBASSY group near Prostějovice in Prostějov district. The task of the group was to act as an intelligence agency in the area of Eastern Moravia, the group split after the jump and Grajzel advanced towards Hranice in Moravia alone
On 22.12.1944 in Prostějov he approached a gendarme and asked for help, but was betrayed by him and arrested by the Gestapo in Olomouc
Late 1944 he was imprisoned in Olomouc and Brno, then transferred to Dachau Concentration Camp and then Flossenburg
May 1945, as part of repatriation, returns from the KT back to his homeland
